Product Description for Scalamandre Sumatra Ikat Weave Indigo Fabric
This patterned stripe is woven in the traditional and centuries-old method of ikat, with a warp of soft cotton yarn that is hand printed and then hand woven with textured, rustic jute threads. The resulting pattern has the classic feathered edges and softened colorations that are inherent to the ikat process. The motifs have a bold, tribal look that adds an accent of exoticism to a modern room, or as a counterpoint to tree-of-life and floral prints in a more traditional setting.
