Product Description for Scalamandre Palampore Embroidery Bloom Fabric
Palampore is the Hindi word for bed hanging, and refers to Indian printed textiles created for bed draperies in the eighteenth century. Such bed hangings were highly prized and featured a tree of life design with abundant flowers and pomegranates. Our new interpretation of this classic and graceful pattern is embroidered in colorful threads against a medium weight of linen. The dramatic scale is ideal for curtain panels, wall upholstery and bed coverlets.
