The name Luoyang is derived from an internationally renowned peony garden in China. This delicately detailed wallcovering of blossoming peonies and butterflies is adapted from a hand painted Chinese silk panel discovered in the Scalamandr archives. The design has been interpreted as a two-yard repeat with a drop match, giving it a mural-like appearance. The soft watercolor rendering is printed against an ivory sisal grasscloth ground, adding texture and dimension.
