Georgis & Mirgorodsky were inspired by the original dark moldings and heavy architecture of the dining room for their NYC Kips Bay Showhouse room. Both modern and old world features live in harmony. Selecting a middle Eastern theme with elements of Cairo, Instanbul and Damascus works beautifully with the old world architecture. The modern curved sofa is covered in a rich beige fabric whereas the plaid silk drapery and the chandelier complement the Edwardian architecture and the poufs bring in the exoticism which makes this room so intriguing.
